Hello warriors! My name is Andrea McGrath. I live in Brooklyn, New York with my husband, two children, two dogs, and a cat. I have a BA in Psychology.
Mental health has always been something that I have been quite passionate about, but when my child faced the challenges of mental illness, it hit home—hard.
That moment wasn’t just a turning point; it was a catapult into a whole new level of advocacy.
The lack of resources and support left me feeling helpless, frustrated, and most often in a dark place.
However, I realized one day that the extremely simple act of lighting the perfect scented candle helped ease my stress and anxiety. I wanted to create a business that not only brought others that same peace and comfort but also shone a light on mental health and self-care.
Through this emotional and dark time, Out of Darkness Candle Co.was born!
Every candle I create is mindfully crafted to promote self-care, self-love, and overall mental well-being.
Out of Darkness Candle Co., is a business that not only makes candles but it is a community that provides comfort to those that are struggling while raising awareness and funds for mental health.
Through this beautiful and sometimes heartbreaking journey, I have been blessed to meet and create a wonderful supportive community. Sharing our stories has become a source of strength while creating a space where nobody feels alone.
I truly believe that everyone deserves a safe and comforting space to relax and recharge, and we are committed to providing that through our products.
As we step into 2024, my goal is to bust through the self-imposed limits that have held me back. It’s time to take my business and advocacy to the next level. My goal is to reach more hearts and minds through collaborations, social media, and publications.
