Burn Out and How To Avoid it

Being an entrepreneur, your to-do list can seem never-ending. When it is time to turn your laptop off, finish that last email, and finally rest for leisure time, it is essential to first unplug mentally. Before starting your self-care routine and leisure time, you must first get in the headspace that you accomplished all that you set out to do for that day to the best of your ability. If you are full of anxiety and stress while trying to relax and unwind, it is not truly going to relax you and recharge you.

 

I used to be one of those people that worked for hours on end, on my never-ending to-do list. However, working in this matter with little to no rest is counteractive. Rest is not only for our physical bodies and health but for our mental health as well. Burnout is a real thing, and REST is also productive.

Our bodies in more ways than one, let us know when it needs rest. Listening to it, before it completely shuts down is a daily habit that your physical health and mental health would benefit from. The best way I like to prevent burnout is to simply rest when my body requires it. When your mind becomes so cloudy that you can’t think clear concise thoughts, and you feel completely out of energy for the day, that is your body telling you to REST.

 

Taking a bubble bath and using my favorite bath bomb and body exfoliator is one of the first things I do to set the tone for my relaxation time. After which, I like to catch up on my DVR recordings that were missed during the day. While catching up on my favorite shows, I also like to indulge in a bowl of my favorite ice cream or my favorite treat.

 

Being an entrepreneur, you wear many hats. Resting and setting aside leisure time is both physically and mentally imperative. Burnout is a real thing and can be hard to bounce back from. However, having a good self-care regime and allocating time for leisure and relaxation is equally as important as accomplishing your goals.

    Ashley what a wonderful read. I’m not an entrepreneur, but I still deal with a lot of screen time and etc. Which can be very draining. I’m still not in a self-care pattern how I would like to to.
