I’ve been on my own journey to healing from PMDD for most of my life. I know what it’s like to feel crippled by the physical and emotional symptoms of this condition. I also know what it’s like to spend a lifetime searching for relief.
I did it for thirty years. I never thought I’d make it this far.
From the time I was 14 years old, I knew something was different about the way I experienced life throughout my cycle. I obviously knew about PMS, but I couldn’t help but wonder if what I was going through each month fell into the category of “normal.”
Everything I felt, both mentally and physically, before, during, and after my period was heightened in such a way that made it difficult for me to function properly in my daily life and often prevented me from doing so.
I was finally diagnosed with PMDD when I was thirty. I tried every remedy you can imagine. My life soon became a revolving door of debilitating symptoms and failed treatments. At one point, my entire reproductive system was shut down in an attempt to alleviate the effects of my condition.
Nothing ever worked well enough to sustain long-term positive results. I was miserable.
Well into my adulthood and my quest for healing, I learned that women who endured childhood trauma are likely to experience more severe and painful symptoms of PMDD.
That’s when I heard about Rapid Transformational Therapy® (RTT®).
Through RTT, I connected my mind and my body by tapping into my subconscious. This led me to the discovery of some unresolved childhood trauma lingering in my psyche. I confronted, resolved, and moved on from that trauma with the help of RTT.
Since my powerful healing experience with RTT, I have been able to combine nutrition, cold exposure, meditation, and therapy to achieve a PMDD symptom-free life.
I had promised myself that if I were ever to attain a lifestyle of which PMDD was not a part, I would do whatever I could to help other sufferers do the same.
There are so many of us out there.
According to statistics provided by PMDD patient-led project Vicious Cycle, 1 in 20 women experience PMDD during their reproductive years.
Even more staggering is the fact that it’s believed that 90% of these women living with PMDD are undiagnosed.
PMDD is one of the most prevalent disorders among menstruating individuals in the world.
The majority of us are not getting the help or the care we need to live full, healthy lives free from the pain and misery brought on by this condition.
That’s where I’d like to make a difference. I started Survive to Thrive to bring hope and healing to sufferers of PMDD.
I understand the constant merry-go-round of horrendous physical and emotional symptoms and unsuccessful treatments. I’ve been the one constantly searching for new remedies, changing my diet, and feeling alone and misunderstood.
I had all but given up on life without PMDD, but I finally unlocked the key to a fulfilling symptom-free life. I know it may seem impossible, but I am living, breathing proof that life beyond the limitations of PMDD not only exists but is possible.
Survive to Thrive is my mission to help other warriors just like myself discover the path to healing and live life on their own terms. I didn’t do it on my own, and you don’t have to either.
Since my personal experience with RTT, I’ve become a certified RTT practitioner, training under world-renowned therapist Marissa Peer.
I am a huge believer in the transformative power of this therapy and the untapped potential of the mind, body, and spirit to communicate and work together to create positive, existential, healing change.
I’ve lived through it myself.
